I BRING UPDATES. on my journey through the passage that the space-time continuum has induced.
right.
im supposed to go the library now. but i can't. sigh. crap. and along the way screwing up that part of my life again.
away from that.
abishek varma has practically attained retard-nirvana. i shit you not. that boy is amazing. how he does it, how he gets those guts, i don't know. point in case, flashback to yesterday. PC talk. this old boy from acs was giving a talk on oxford university and how to get in and whatnot. (apparently, now half my class wants to go to oxford even more cause emma watson is there? o.O)
as expected, the Q&A session begins with the famous catchphrase "are there any questions?" as usual, no one steps up to ask questions. i mean, sure, what COULD you ask anyhow. i didn't know. but the people of 4.13 had a plan. a nasty and devious plan that hatched into tricking abishek to attain retard-nirvana.
just when the Q&A session is about to end due to the lack of questions, you see a hand slowly, waveringly, but surely, appear through the thick mass of black spots.
"ohh a question. yes?"
"HOW MANY POINTS DO I NEED TO GET INTO HOGWARTS?"
hilarity ensues. kudos to the speaker. he actually answers the question with much wit and among the chaos that was the laughter of 250 students.
"well, im estimating 56 points. if you're a muggle, i reckon 76 points should do it."
(for the unacquainted, 45 points is the maximum you can get for IB. higher the better, yes.)
brilliant. absolutely awesome. abishek got detained later. probably to arrange a date with the counsellor or a psychiatrist. or just talking to mr alvin tan. yay.
flashback further back. BoB 2.
thanks to the EXCO, daniel and kevin, the rest of the PB, student council, teachers (essentially the leadership development unit), MR dudes, estate office custodians, ms chia bee teck, the senior admin (especially mrs lenie cho for turning up and dr. ong for gracing the event with an unexpected visit), the sound crew people, the bands & their teachers, the store aunties for whipping up epicurean delights, the 953 people who came down to support and joined us in a time of amazing music-making and God, BoB 2 was a success :D
(long thank-you lists, ftw!)
but yes. rehearsals might have been amazingly long (11 plus end, and then supper), preparations might have been extremely tiring and tedious.
wait. who am i kidding. they WERE long and tedious and tired.
in any case, i declare it all worth it. honestly. the experience will no doubt be of massive help to us. like in everything. to all who came down and are reading this post (i dont know of anyone who read honestly. except a few), i hope you had a good time! even with the little mess-ups along the way, i must admit i had fun with them o.O
but well, the structure of the auditorium is still intact, nothing big went wrong, exco was really tired. whoopee. the music was pretty goood. :D
speaking of music, go buy yellowcard's new album. it is a Must. honestly. it is That Good. the white stripes' new album was a nice refreshing change from the kind of music i'd listen to usually. honestly, bagpipes in a rock track? that's something new, that's something amazing. maroon5 freaks me out a little till today, what with that extremely high and polished falsetto =/ but yellowcard! worth every cent. all the lyrics are saccharine, especially Dear Bobbie. it brought tears to me. compared with Love, Me by Collin Raye, they're both probably just as sweet. same grandfather-grandmother love letter kinda thing. but gosh. i can't choose which is better. though im definitely going to be crazy over Dear Bobbie for a while more.
and next year, when i get my instruments and equipment, BoB 3 had better watch out.
i'll find a band yet xD
