AFTER 4 WEEKS OF RADIO SILENCE

i am back!! well that's quite delayed by 2 weeks. JET LAG I SAY. okay. bad excuse.

the last month of my life has been absolutely nothing short of eventful. well, actually, in terms of big events, it has been bloody boring. one event took up 2 weeks of my life, another took 1 week and the last was school, a mundane everyday thing we now accept to be a reality.

THAT. was from the macro. NOW for the micro XD

GYLC. this post is WAY overdue. but my being lazy and BoB hecticness has overtook me recently and well i just did not want to update. yet. plus an extremely unhealthy obsession with facebook has descended upon me.

<3 VENEZUELA.

i have no idea how many times i have said that. or typed. whatever. but OMG. VENEZUELA > ALL OTHERS. you heard that right gylc 2nd session. WE PWN YOU. ALL OF YOU!

GOSH. that's a lot actually. BUT OMG WE PWN YOU ALL :D honestly! i have never been in such glorious company of these amazingly brilliant people. i guess GYLC could be renamed COOL (Conference Of Overachieving Leaders). everyone there is so incredibly talented. i still dont know if robbie will pwn michael. cause all michael seems to do with his judo slams is "oh you break his arm" and robbie goes smashing you with his taekwondo black belt kicks. i still dont know what drives women when they abstain from eating and go shopping. like maniacs. honestly. and they get great deals. somehow. gosh!

we have a reunion date! 2010, south africa. WORLD CUP. winners! :D but gosh why can't it be sooner =/ seriously. im missing every single one of them so badly.

i'll do a quick recap/recount/recollection of GYLC here. brief and whatnot.

day 1. jet lag. that's all i remember. and folding paper cranes. and feeling really really giddy. i met some amazing people already. that was all before dinner. the flight there was disastrous. it very nearly killed me. never, ever, in the short span of my 16 years of life, have i sat in a place, for more than 12 hours. plus the air smelt bad (i dont know if it was just me or some people just smelt so bad) and they had an amazingly limited amount of games on their inflight entertainment service. try like. uh. 15 or something. i dint want to watch the movies much cause the headphones hurt and they were so uncomfortable. games delete the need for headphones. after all, who wants to hear retarded little bytes of sound files telling you to make your move o.O though i did watch ghost rider on the singapore - tokyo/narita flight. on the flight to washington d.c./dulles, i was so bored cause for the first few hours the darn contraption just refused to cooperate with me. BUT there was a baby with this couple across the aisle next to me. OMG. XD that totally helped. honestly. making faces at babies can be SO fulfilling at times you know? (: then i played against the computer in reversi. hard. and i dont know man. they got their ratings weirded out. i had bigger wins in hard than easy. it was so so mind boggling. but yes. flight wise. urgh. jet lag, urgh. everything, urgh. that's day 1.

BUT I MET MY LEADERSHIP GROUP. AKA VENEZUELA. i remember sitting next to gervasio. and playing the switching name tag game. and gervasio told me this really quirky story that stacey told him about her boyfriend slamming her fingers after she tickled him non stop before she left o.O but it was really really cool. mamie was so so funky. she HAD to be anyhow. we made it compulsory for her to be funky.

day 2. georgetown lunch! hyorim and i decided to go exploring. it was so funky. and we were the only ones who went in the correct direction HA XD nyehnyeh. then. we went to this bigass bookstore. :D then ohgosh. jefferson memorial. D: it was so darn hot that day we were MELTING. i could see pieces of me floating around on the floor i just walked on. no, not my pee. something. anyhow. we were wearing PROFESSIONAL WEAR D: GOSH! urgh! it destroys you. imagine. (for guys) a long sleeved shirt, long pants, black shoes, A STIFFLING TIE, A BLAZER. i think that's where it got its name from, the blazer. it certainly felt like the blazes of hell were burning me from inside that device that "makes you look smart". ironically, it was a stepping stone and it typified/classified us while we went trailblazing everywhere. keynote address was by mr. mark hanis. he was REALLY cool. he knew his stuff about genocide. really inspiring XD

i think im being too long winded. if i go on this way, i'll probably jam up the LJ network with spammed thoughts and pixels. i'll cut short.

day 3! i went to bread for the world! i went to IMF! we had politics of trade simulation! THEY WERE ALL REALLY FUNKY. and honestly, by then the group had bonded SO MUCH. and guess what, it was day 3! :D we were so amazing :D yay. i was some WTO representative for USA with rubecca. it was really funky :D hyorim was arguing nonstop and all (that crazy MUN girl) imrah kept going on about human rights and jennifer got chair of the WTO panel (ABSOLUTELY BY LUCK URGH) but she deserved it nonetheless (: gylc talent showcase was next and we did the cha cha! AS A GROUP. the ONLY group to do it as a group. needless to say, we rocked so much. then, we lost T_T OHWELL. that's what you get from a last minute decision and an extremely unprepared group.

day 4! department of the interior talk! tunisian embassy talk! diplomatic reception! war memorials at night! needless to say, they all rocked. except for Q&As. we learnt that most diplomats are extremely horrid and they don't answer questions. they go off on an extremely random tangent and lead you round and round the mountain and then repeat what they said in their speech and what you asked and not answer it. ITS AMAZING ACTUALLY. you get sucked in. unwittingly. but the tunisian people were SO NICE :D he told me to become a negotiator in the future o.O

day 5! WHITE HOUSE! this was the most amazing bit of the entire day. i'll go against my word (D:) and talk about it at length. it was so amazing it deserves credit. every single bit i can give it.



YOU SEE THAT PICTURE MY FRIENDS? that. is sheer hard work and <3. let's recap. lunch at museum of natural history (really cool. big ass skeletons of dinosaurs and what not.) then we wanted to go to the white house! then we were supposed to be there at 3. we were meant to meet staff of gylc at a museum. we heard it was the national air and space museum. we went there, THERE WAS NOBODY THERE! gosh D: then, we missed the tour lah. we were SAD. and PISSED. laura decided to call jennifer (the wicked! lady XD) and well we were told we could not go anymore! jenn then called jennifer! and she kept talking about how she felt insecure and unsafe that there are no GYLC staff at the museum (they're supposed to be posted there) and she kept going on about how we were on time BUT we just were told the wrong information and we couldnt find anybody!! and we wanted to see the white house really badly ): so after a lot a lot of deliberation (and whining, thanks to jenn XD) we manage to get a private tour :D stuart was our "guide" HAHA. ohwell :D it was fun though. and bloody amazing :D we got to see the white house XD yay (:

day 6! we stayed in the sheraton the whole day D: but it was quite fun i guess. peace and security simulation. SPRATLY ISLANDS lol. it was haejin and i representing venezuela at our room! china were morons. they vetoed T_T ohwell. it was fun. i couldnt run for chair or whatnot cause it was just haejin and i >< if i ran, she'd do EVERYTHING. ohwell

day 7! travelled to philadelphia/new york city :D THEY HAVE NICE TREES IN PHILADELPHIA :D elvan and i explored a lot it was so so so so amazing (: yay. manhattan college was HUGE. rooms kinda sucked but OMG THE PLACE ROCKED. <3 the quad. we were snapping coins at the wall and sliding down banisters. XD global summit officially started ! it was pretty darn cool. sucked actually. SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY COMMISSION T__T but ohwell. i ran for chair!! got vice-chair, behind this cool guy called mark and ahead of CHAD. chad is a really cool guy i met on the first day (: FATE. yay haha xD but ohwell it was fun XD

day 8! gosh the days are passing so fast! I WENT TO GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM. it was the most amazing place EVER. stef and michael were there too ((: it was so so so amazing (: essentially, today was a fun day :D then we went to watch BE by mayumana. they pwn stomp. seriously. then we had LGM and all. wicked fun :D there was lunch at times sqaure :D you have no idea how bad i wanted to run into the middle and scream YATTA! i wanted to find isaac mendez's loft, run out on to the balcony and scream "DON'T WORRY NEW YORK! WE WILL SAVE YOUUUUUUU" ohwell =/ and we were supposed to be voting on our representatives for venezuela to run for the global summit team! so many people were nominated omg. like 7 people. GOSH. and people were supposed to vote D:  (i was one of them nominated. thanks to jenn XD) but gosh. our group dint want to vote cause everyone was "just way too amazing. everyone was too divided". <333 ! so mamie was the one to decide/choose 2 people from our group.

day 9! WE HAD SOME DUDE FROM GENERAL MOTORS. o.O he was promoting GM the whole time. T___T and i was given this essay to write. for the global summit team application o.O rubecca got it too! =/ but she didn't know how to write it so she gave it to jenn! but jenn didn't really want it and all! hyo got upset and all and gosh so much happened! mamie was T_T =/ -.- and hyo got the nomination in the end. but mamie said she dint want hyo to run for some weird obscure reason. =/ so weird. we stayed in the whole day again! being commission vice chair was fun XD

day 10! interview time for global summit team! mamie told hyo not to go cause she dint want her. i went to settle things, hyo got the interview in the end xD that girl is CRAZY. she is the most experienced MUN person i've ever seen. she. is. scary. then the results were shortly announced after! T___T i dint get chair. but i was on the team! the only asian T_T but omg my group was so happy and i was like o.O D: :D :D :D !!! ohwell (: butbut. gylc was ending soon. OMG ): missed 1 LGM cause of global summit prep =/ urgh. but well. it was quite an amazing team. i felt so small =/

day 11! global summit. ftw! it was so amazing. i was partnered with jakob. it was so fun xD reading the "up your banana stuffed ass" note was hilarious. farewell dinner cruise! it was so sad omg. to let gylc end. i shant say much. =/

day 12! NOOO WE ARE LEAVING. cricri. picture time. i shant upload. im lazy. i still have IP symposium to blog about o.O

cri. it was an amazing group. AHHHH <3 all of them. imrah "adopted" me as her younger brother. she's so so so so amazing XD she's gonna tutor me for IB yay! (she finished it. like omg )

anyhow! I HAD CAMP AFTER GYLC. LIKE. IMMEDIATELY. it was fun though. <3 council.

year 4 ip symposium was next! i was facilitating stuff with david crawshaw. it was quite fun XD all the stuff learnt at GYLC put into use. yay.

I THINK I DONT WANT TO BLOG ANYMORE omg this is actually quite tiring for me. and for you too i'd bet. my deepest and most sincere apologies to your tired rectal muscles =/

i'll blog some other time. HOPEFULLY. NOT ONE MONTH LATER and with uh. better content lol.
